What you should know about Granite.....
Granite is an igneous stone created inside the earth during its formation millions of years ago. Granite is primarily composed of mica, feldspar and the most resistant of all common minerals- quartz
The weight of granite varies somewhat, depending on the granite type. Per square
foot, a 3/4" slab of granite will weigh between 12-15 pounds.
Designers often consider the "grain" of granite. Some granites have uniform grain while others are variegated. Thus, each application for granite has countless possibilities.
These minerals are easy to see because of their different colors.
